The Hunt by Level20Artist The Hunt by Level20Artist
This was an older piece I did in Corel Painter. Just basically wanted to paint a hot vampire stalking someone and thus I did.

wow a bit creepy, but great composition and haunting color choice! i'm just wondering where the red light reflecting of the vampire's face comes from? good job for making me wonder!

Thank you. Yeah, I wanted to add an eerie feel so I went with the red under lit glow. I'm glad it seems to be working.

nie composition
but i feel that if the front tree was coming from the top left corner instead of from behind the character shoulder you would have got a better composition harmony and dynamic

but over all you did a nice job

You know I tried that before. It looked flat and kept moving your eye out of the piece. Suffice it to say I could never quite figure out the best placement. But perhaps if I ever get back into this one I'll play with its movement again.

you should look at some traditional chinese painting and some traditional korean painting, they have a nice theory about the movement of energy in a painting, you might get an interesting idea for futur work

I started to do that recently, as well as looking at some Mucha. Unfortunately I haven't been uploading images in chronological order. Thus this piece did not get much benefit from it since it is a bit older. I truly love the way traditional Chinese and Korean paintings flow, it is quite beautiful. But yes thank you for the suggestion.
